Acting
Our broadway dance classes combine singing, acting, and movement into an exciting, high-energy class. As a result, we expose students to many different styles of musical theatre throughout the year. This class, consequently, offers students the opportunity to sing and move to their favorite Broadway songs as well as participate in acting activities.

First of all, each week broadway classes start with physical warm-ups to energize and vocal warm-ups to explore vocal techniques. After the warm-ups, students learn choreography and lyrics to songs from famous Broadway musicals.
Following the musical theatre piece, students, as a result, have the opportunity to explore the many styles of acting through activities such as improvisation, pantomime, and scripted scenes. We certainly direct focus toward creating a character and improving stage presence.
Broadway Monologue & Music
***For Broadway auditions students must also enroll in a Gotta Dance Broadway class.
For Company Auditions on Saturday, January 10th 2026, we require all actors auditioning to prepare your syllabus monologue and song. Please note that your song and/or monologue may be shortened for the audition.

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
(A spoiled child tells the story of how their father found them a Golden Ticket)
As soon as I told my father that I simply had to have one of those Golden Tickets, he went out into the town and started buying up all the Wonka candy bars he could lay his hands on. Thousands of them, he must have bought. Hundreds of thousands! Then he had them loaded on to trucks and sent directly to his own factory. He had every worker in the place yanking the paper off those bars of chocolate, full speed ahead, from morning ‘til night. Then suddenly, on the evening of the fourth day, one of his workers yelled, ‘I’ve got it! A Golden Ticket!’ And my father said, ‘Give it to me, quick!’ And she did. And he rushed it home and gave it to me.

MONOLOGUE
(To themselves)
You can do this. He (she, they) likes you. He (she, they) told you so. Use your words. Hi! Hi. So. I know you asked me out next Friday and I still really want to go but you didn’t say where you were going to take me and I thought you should know that I’m allergic to dairy and wheat and I also probably shouldn’t have peanut butter even though it only made me breathe weird for like a day, and I think whatever you pick will be great but I’d also just like to know where it will be so I can find out if I can bike there or if my mom should drive me because I’m not allowed to bike across the highway and oh my god I’m being weird I’m so sorry never mind see you at school okay thanks sorry bye.
